Call for interest – Visitor fee support programme

Too many Mediterranean MPAs are facing a recurrent lack of financing resources, needed to carry out their missions: restoring vulnerable ecosystems & provide services to coastal community.
To help MPAs managers to develop diversified self-generated revenues, our partner, BlueSeeds, produced a practical guide on financing mechanisms.
BlueSeeds now wants to go further and support directly MPA managers in the implementation of such financing mechanisms. To do so, BlueSeeds is launching a one-year FREE support programme for setting up visitor fee systems in Mediterranean MPAs, starting in July 2021. You work for a Mediterranean MPA and you want to implement a visitor fee mechanism in your MPA? Send your application & benefit from this one year FREE support program!
This support program is part of the Co-Managed No-Take zones/MPAs project, funded by the MAVA Foundation, conducted in collaboration with the MedPAN, the SPA/RAC, the WWF, AGIR, LIFE Platform, Notre Grand Bleu, HCMR.
At the Université Côte d'Azur, BlueSeeds trained future graduates of the Msc MARRES (Marine Resource Science, Conservation & Innovation) on marine conservation finance during a one-week bootcamp.
Alongside the IUCN Med, BlueSeeds has been entrusted with the mission to lead a network of 46 partners financed by the MAVA Foundation to reduce the pressures of fishing in the Mediterranean.
Our team went to Monastir in Tunisia to strengthen the financial planning skills of three assocations including Notre Grand Bleu, co-manager of the future marine and coastal protected area of the Kuriat Islands.
